When I came back, everything was supposed to be finished.

When you have become indispensible to the completion of a task, nothing substantive happens while you're gone. It's a rule.

On the plus side, they're hardly going to be able to ever fire you, are they?

Well, Temp Boss sure isn't, but she'll be gone by the end of the month. The annoying thing it was supposed to be DONE by the time I was sready to take my leave on the original date. Cut to three weeks later...

Sigh. Supposedly they're trying to wrangle me a bonus for coming in during my break and working on some stuff, but I'll believe it when it happens.

Eek... How painful. Nice to know you're needed but it would be even nicer if they could be a little more self reliant. Hope the project is in it's final stages for real this time and you can get it off your desk soon.

It's Just About done. Of course I was saying that two weeks ago, but now it's at the point that the printer is literally standing by. And given that we're going to be printing literally over a million copies of the thing, having them sit idle for any length is something we just can't do.
