BG 1978 vs. BG 2003 (spoilers)

For all those trying to avoid Sci-Fi's "Re-imagining" of the original Battlestar Galactica, here's a quick rundown of the character changes.

Zack
Original BG: Apollo's brother, dies quickly.
New BG: Dies so fast we never even see him. On the plus side that means we avoid any potential Rick Springfield cameos.

Apollo
OBG: "Woo-hoo! Zack's dead, that mean's I've got Dad to myself!"
NBG: "Waah! Zack's dead, that mean's I Have Issues with my old man!"

Starbuck
OBG: Joke cracking, cigar smoking, gambling, womanizer.
NBG: Joke cracking, cigar smoking, gambling, uhhhhhhh...

Boomer
OBG: The Black Guy. Loyal third Musketeer to Apollo and Starbuck. Less personality than Porthos or Aramis though.
NBG: The Asian Chick. Hotter than the original Boomer by far. Thinks arguing about gimbals is sexy.

Adama
OBG: Insprirational commanding patriarch, played by Lorne Greene (paying the bills after Bonanza was cancelled).
NBG: Inspriational commanding military guy, played by Edward James Olmos (paying the bills after Miami Vice was cancelled).

Baltar
OBG: Villain in the classic mode of Ming the Merciless.
NBG: Villain in the classic mode of Doctor Smith.

Tigh
OBG: The Other Black Guy. Adama's right hand man. Spent a lot of time standing around looking serious.
NBG: Adama's (white) right hand man. Spends a lot of time looking hung over.

Jolly
OBG: The guy flying the Viper not being flown by Apollo, Boomer, or Starbuck...
NBG: The guy flying the Viper next to the CAG's. Dies quickly.

Serina, Cassiopia, Athena...
OBG: Good-hearted ladies fighting the Cylons.
NBG: Replaced by skanky female Cylon.
