Weekend

Twas a good, if lazy, weekend. Friday I watched Tom while Tracy worked (I'd feel sorry for her if I didn't know she gets things like Columbus Day and Martin Luther King Day off).) Saturday I took Tom back over to see Grandma & Grandpa Day, not to mention Aunt Robin again. The wind was blowing hard that day, and he had endless fun watching the little rainbow colored windmill Grandma has in her back garden.

Sunday was Boo-boo's (Grandma Patton) birthday, so Tracy baked her a cake which we brought up to her. While Tracy and Boo-boo played with Tom in the backyard, I did manly stuff like assemble her try and animated plastic lawn angels while watching the Raven kick San Fran's butt on the tube.

The only downer is my sleep schedule went up in flames again. I kept waking up at 12:30 or 1 and staying up until Tom awakened (just about when I wanted to go back to sleep.) So I eneded up taking long naps in the morning, wasting the time away when I could have been cleaning the house. :(

So I make the mistake of Googling "The Voyage of the Mimi" a rather entertaining children's science serial from the mid-80's, set aboard a converted tuna trawler as it roamed the ocean tracking whales and Having Adventures while painlessly introducing some oceanic science to the pre-teen set.

Only to find that the kid playing C.T., grandson of the properly crusty Captain Granville [1], was Ben Affleck, he of overrated acting ability and star of many movies that I've done my best to avoid seeing.

Aiiiii!

[1] Played by Peter Marston, who is likely the only nuclear physicist with an Actor's Guild card.
