In my last few months in the Air Force I had a list called "Karl's Priorities" over my desk. "Assigned tasks" was #4 of 10. The boss stood there thoughtfully for a few moments the first time he saw it then decided to not say anything.

Which reminds me, there's an unfinished Omniscient Eye piece lying around here somewhere . . .

I suspect the Air Force's relatively high Geek Quotient has resulted in slightly... less than complete military discipline. My brother-in-law worked on the JSF project, and he liked to tell the story of the Marine liason that worked in his office. Seems the fellow couldn't wrap his head around not having roll call at the start of the work day (this was in Crystal City, VA mind you.)

less than complete military discipline? I was in Space Command. Many corporations have much stricter discipline that than outfit.
