I work on the sixth floor of a seven floor building. Every floor has a soda and/or snack machine, all of which presumably are serviced by the same company. The soda machine on my floor charges $0.75 for a coke, while the machine on the floor above me charges $0.65 (and offers snacks besides). So in order to save ten cents, I must march upstairs and then back down to my desk, thus satisfying my craving for cheap sugary drinks and alleviating the guilt thereof with a little exercise all in one swell foop.

Of course if I really wanted to save money, I would just bring an extra soda from home every day...

Think of it this way: you're not only saving a dime, you're getting some exercise!

Then again, yours truly watches for sales on 12-packs of Coke and buys lots of them when they're cheap, and brings them to work. (We have a staff fridge, so this might not work in your situation. But our Pepsi machine is a dollar a bottle and I can often buy Coke or Pepsi at about 20 cents a can. And I don't *want* a whole 16-oz bottle!)

Also, perhaps, of some comfort: when I was in Canada, I found that a lot of the pop machines took "toonies", the $2 coin, worth about $1.50 US. Convenient but expensive.
