[Error: unknown template video]
I used to race through completing my homework so I could watch this show at 4 pm every weekday. I know it looks cheezy as hell now, but if I had the money I'd be buying the whole series on DVD.

As long as you don't mind it being shredded and remade:

Another version put together by Lee Thompson.

Also, though I couldn't fine a version on YouTube or Google Video, I have seen Star Dipwads: Arrivederci Human Race before, and found it somewhat amusing.

Finally, one I haven't seen but have heard of, Brad DeMoss did a Yamato video set to "My Heart Will Go On", apparently on a dare. I heard Amy Howard Wilson (voice of Nova) liked it.

Okay, Lee Thompson's vid hurt my brain, but in a good way. (giggles) Thank you!

That brings back memories!
Except for the opening jingle. We had a different music score and no rousing lyrics. One of my first initiations into anime, next to Astroboy, Kimba and battle of the Planets.

I wish I could find the futuristic 'Ulysses' series on DVD. Loved that series and would snap it up in a heart beat.

Do you mean Ulysses 13?: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1732

Yeah, for me it was Kimba in the mornings before school, and Battle of the Planets and Star Blazers in the afternoons. Never saw Astroboy, but we did have Aquaboy, which was prety much the same thing only fishier (lad had adventures under the sea, aided by "aqua gum" that let him breath underwater!)

But I think Star Blazers always really held my attention, both for the kicking theme song, and the serial nature of the storyline. That "X number of days to save the Earth" message at the end always made sure I'd catch the next episode. :)
