Insomnia decided to kick in again with a vengeance. Woke up at 2 am and couldn't get back to sleep. Naturally this is the day I'm going to a job fair at PG County libraries, where I know there are at least two positions offered that I'm qualified for. Also, we're getting our floors installed (again), and I'm just dreading what's going to go wrong THIS time.

I want the day to be over...

Oh, that's not nice. I hated it when I was waking up early for a while.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your success - both for a job, and for finally finishing that floors installation. If it were summer, I would have tried keeping my toes crossed too. ;)

I have probably missed out, but what happened with Barnes & Noble? (Although I must admit, if I had the choice, I'd probably prefer working at a library to working in a bookstore. A bit... calmer.)

Floor installation is going well so far (he's still doing it at least!). The living room looks absolutely gorgeous. Much better than the work that was completed on the landing that we later figured out was substandard.

The B&N job never came through. One of my references never called them back, and I decided to not pursue it. I'm getting almost as much via unemployment insurance as I would be working for them, so I'm trying to shoot for a better job that I'd enjoy more. And believe me, "Librarian" would be a dream job for me.

(Waits patiently for current librarians to fall over laughing at that statement.)

Thank you. The job fair went well. Basically filled out my applications, chatted briefly with the recuiter to introduce myself, and toddled off. Much less stressful that I was anticipating. Anyway, I've even got a mild edge, just because library systems are so overwhelming female, PG is actually leaning towards hiring more males to balance things out.

I _think_ that is quite likely to happen if you post the statement on the LMB list. Don't know (have to check) if the librarians there are all on lj...
