Just got off the phone with the lady at the temp agency. I now, finally, have a long term temp assignment of at least three months. It's $12 an hour for a sucktastic customer service position (answering phones) but at least its a job.
Fortunately, I'm hoping not to be there long, for earlier today I also went to a job fair for PJ County libraries again for a Library Associate position. Now, the last time I did this, they looked at the forms after I filled them out, gave me a quickie interview and said, "We'll get back to you." About a month later I got a notice in the mail saying I hadn't gotten the job. This time they looked at the forms, opened up a notebook, and set me up for a 45 minute interview about two weeks from now.
Even if I get only a 30 hour a week position at the library, it'll still be more than I'd be making at the other job, and I'd actually, y'know, enjoy it.
