Short Review: So You Want to be a Wizard?

If there was justice in the universe, everyone would realize that dduane was writing Harry Potter before there ever was a Harry Potter, and doing it better.

I was loving it with the kids playing with their magical powers and running into the two adult wizards who were all "Hi, welcome to the club. Play nice!" But she had me completely hooked with the helicopter creature and then with them overhearing You Know Who chatting on the phone.

Which I'm so going to have to rip off for an In Nomine fic someday.

I thought everyone knew about So You Want to Be a Wizard. I certainly read it when I was a brat. And I have a first edition with ephemera from Delacorte Press. Nice cover by David Wiesner.

My darling wife gave me all of dduane's Wizard books that I didn't already have for Christmas. I see a reading binge in my future. :-)
