I'll have to YouTube video posted shortly, but the text version goes like this:

1. Shit, that was both a long and incredibly fast line. After arriving at 8:15 at the back end of a half-mile long line, it moved remarkable quickly when the doors opened at 8:30, and I got through registration by 9:30. Of course having pre-reged certainly didn't hurt.

2. Lotsa of nice cosplay going on this year. Either I'm getting used to the con or the demographics have edged closer to my age. This time around I didn't feel like such a dirty old man while I was ogling the cosplayers.

3. Got a few nice inquiries about the Terinu shirt I made, using a pic for next year's calendar that Peta was gracious enough to let me borrow.

4. Also, I managed to get my copy of A Miracle of Science, Volume One signed by Jon Kilgannon (Marc Sachs wasn't there due to issues at his workplace). It was kinda funky to find that Jon was almost as pleased to meet me as I was to meet him.

5. Swag acquired: A signed copy of Errant Story, Volume One, a Megatokyo TPCD t-shirt (yeah, I'm a dork), an off-model but cheap sketch of Terinu, and a more expensive but quite nice inked and shaded drawing of Marty, my Vulpine character from Peta's aborted RPG. I'll post a scan of the latter as soon as I fix the drivers for my scanner.

6. Also saw the sneak peek of Freedom that ADV was running to show off HD-DVD. Gorgeous looking series with character designs from the Akira team, that hits my Space Geek button in much the same manner as Planetes did.

7. One last note: Watching old videos of Kamen Rider and Ultra-man makes me realize the wonderfully subtle storytelling and characterizations of the various Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series.

No, really...

I am going there... one day day i will definately get there!

Thankyou VERY much for pimping Terinu. I tried to get the design for the tee-shirt completed on my computer but I'm having a hell of a lot of trouble with the damn thing crashing with photoshop... freezes up and i have to reboot... plus I found myself working a hell of a load of overtime to compensate for the fact I'll be away on holidays... (accreditors for the facility are coming back late August to assess our paperwork and there's mass panic... good time to be on holidays.) Anyway to let you know we do have a spike in our downloads which is excellent to see and I've had several e-mails from new readers who saw the Url at the con. I very very much appreciate you doing this for me... giving 'Terinu' a presence at Otakon... it's a big thing for me. Hopefully I can make it there is person next.

By the way, i think you're right about the age demographic thing... I was reading recently that the average age of computer gamers has gone up from 23 to 28 in only two years... the article predicted it would level off somewhere in between the mid thirties and forties in the next eight years.

Hot damn, it did work. Actaully I got nailed by the "No Signs" (ie: no advertising) rule at the con, and ended up peeling off the iron-on with the website address midway through the first day. Looks like enough people saw it anyway to have an effect though.

No worries about not getting the design done at your end. Though did you my e-mail about maybe doing that tattoo drawing for my co-worker?
