Quick Review: Doctor Who - The Mind Robber

Summary: Trapped outside the universe and outside of time, the 2nd Doctor, Zoe and Jamie find themselves in a Land of Fiction, where what they think can become real... and deadly.

Review: The Doctor finds out that writing crossover fanfic (Cyrano de Bergerac vs. D'Artangan vs. Sir Lancelot) can be very helpful, but Self-Insertion kills.

The best part is the "Making of" documentary in the extras, where they explain the whole bit of the test where the Doctor puts Jamie's face on the wrong way was a means of writing out Frasier Hines while he recovered from a bout of chicken pox.

Heh. Back in those days they'd actually write the scripts to allow the actors to take vacations, too.

They had to, I suppose, given the incredibly rushed production schedule they were operating under. Where they found the time to do effects like the Medusa stop motion animation I have no idea. (boggles)
