So today is the one hundreth day of school for Tom's class. In celebration of this great event, his teachers sent home a bag last week and instructed us to count out 100 identical items and bring them to school.

My wife and I, being who we were, dug out Daddy's old dice bag and counted out one hundred six siders and miscellaneous polyhedral dice.

They may think we're wierd at school, but we're going to make the kid who brought in one hundred pennies look awfully lame in comparison.

As I told [livejournal.com profile] moonshadowed last night, been there and done that with both kids. Plus did the "counting jar" with dice.

Had plenty of leftovers, too. LOL!

Whoa. You have at least 100 dice??

And I thought *I* had a lot of dice! I think I need to turn in my Gamer Card now....

[geezer] It's all the games I used to buy back in my college days, back when RPG's used to come in boxes. [/geezer]

Oh...right...I forgot about all those boxed games. Hmmm, maybe I have more dice than I realized!

You mean you have *less*? We have storage drawers specifically for our dice... and those are only the neat ones. I have a couple drawers full downstairs in my workshop (of doom!)

And then there are the d100s

They do exist, you just need a very flat surface to get them to come to a halt, normally insides of boxes work well.

Now if you could do the [[Nontransitive dice]], that would be fun.

They used to sell those at The Armory before it was bought out. They looked like a golf ball covered with numbers to me. :)

ah..back in the day..wandering the dark dank halls of the armory warehouse. it was sort of like dungeon crawling into itself.*sigh*

Pretty cool about the dice -hehe. I carry probably close to that many when I game -- since I tend to take like 7 sets with me...just in case. LOL

I managed to get used to them at one point. (Shoeboxes or Craps tables required). Having said that, give me red and blue d10s any day.

What's a matter with too much dice? There's no such thing as too much dice! Admittedly I've never counted my dice but at every con I go to, I try to buy a new set. Because they are shiny and pretty. My favorite has to be the double d20s which is a d20 inside a d20.

wow, you must have lost a lot of dice. I remember the day when having 20 dice seemed a luxury, and then a summer later we all had dozens.

That first time I loosed a 15d6 fireball and didn't have to borrow dice for it.....ah, the joys.
