What's this? A podcast about the original start trek series or something? It's pretty funny to see such an old trailer. It's so dated compared to recent trailers! It always makes me wonder what trailers of nowadays will seem to people 40 years from now ^^
It's actually a parody of the opening to an old Gerry Anderson TV series called Space: 1999. Which featured (for the time) terrific special effects, wooden actors and a premise that was brain-bendingly stupid even for a TV series made in the 1970's.
Premise: Earth's moon is being used as a repository for used nuclear waste on the lunar far side, which explodes and flings the moon out of its orbit, along with several hundred people living on Moonbase Alpha. Somehow, despite traveling slower than light, they visit a new alien solar system every week and encounter rubber-suit monsters that would embarrass Doctor Who.
