Weep and rage
Mar. 27th, 2008 10:24 amI wrote about five pages on Spin Recovery yesterday before I left work. I come in this morning and bring up the file to finish the climax, only to find the five pages I wrote are gone, lost to the ether. I haven't the faintest idea where they went, because I swear I was saving the damned thing as I went along and before I left work yesterday. ARRRRRRRGH. now I have to retype them and I know it isn't going to be as good. *headdesk*

1b. They have some sort of system that restores the state each day. Machines in our Library are set up like that to keep folks from messing with them in a way that will stick. But how then would you do your actual work? There might be an answer to that, but you'll have to provide it.
Anyway, either of those two cases and your *headdesk* is necessary.
2. I'm believing you when you said you saved. So - maybe you saved somewhere else? Did an early save-as and continued to save there? Any way to look? Would you have done something like that? (I very well might have.)
Best of luck.
