Review: Invincible

Young Mark has a great dad, a nice mom, too much school work and a crappy fast-food job. Oh, and he also appears to be developing his father's superpowers.

Short Version: I liked it. I really liked it.

Right up until Plot Twist City in Volume Three.

Le sigh.

Why? I liked Nolan and the fact that Mark could trust him and his mother with the knowledge of his superpowers. Seeing him turn into a murderous, lying asshole pissed me off.

Without posting spoilers of my own, all I can say is that it's not quite as simple as that.

Well, I can say this much, since Nolan explained this much - he was a patriot of a culture that based its existence on imperial expansion, with brutal force viewed as completely acceptable if it got the job done. Until Nolan came to Earth, he didn't understand that there was any other way to be.

Mrrr... It's going to take a lot for him to be forgiven for murdering at least six people in cold blood. I'll try and find the later collections.
