Because there's nothing quite so fun as forcing our children to view forty year old cartoons the day after Thanksgiving.

[Poll #1301453]

And now that you've done that, view the Cthuluesque horror of Susan Stamberg's Cranberry Relish Recipe

You aren't familiar with Blackadder?!?! Perhaps I need to send you some DVDs via our wives.

I know Blackadder (can't help that with [livejournal.com profile] jvowles as my friend) but I didn't know that they'd done a Christmas Carol version.

I actually saw the Muppet Christmas Carol before I read the book, which is very very unusual. *amused* Still love it. Must rewatch, soonish.

If I don't watch this on network TV, it's just not Christmas!

I don't watch anything on network TV, but we have some of those on DVD.

Oddly, the only film version of A Christmas Carol I've seen from start to finish is the Muppet version. I think the only thing that really says "now it is Christmas!" to me is Christmas is Coming by The Payolas.

Question 1: You left off A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart!

Question 2: White Christmas and The Life and Adventures of Santa Clause

Of course you like that one -- you know they're adapting it for the big screen?

I have the Grinch, the Charlie Brown, and the Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol on VHS and/or DVD, and watch them all sometime during the Christmas season.

In recent years I've also tried to make time to actually *read* the original Dickens story. (A few years ago I realized I'd seen so many different movie and TV adaptations, I was losing track of what was actually in the original.)

I'm going to have to read the original again. THe first I did it amazed me, given how short the story, how much the various adaptations leave out (especially Scrooge going to church for the firs time years.)

How on EARTH could you forget the one thing that actually MAKES it Christmas:

It's a Wonderful Life!

Seriously, if I don't watch that before I go to bed Christmas Eve, it won't be Christmas.

Another for Muppet's Christmas Carol, here :D

And the only thing you need to watch for Christmas is this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_All_of_Us_to_All_of_You (and apologies for my weak linking skills).

A Charlie Brown Cristmas. Christmas hasn't been the same since Sparky died, somehow.

And lately I think of Scrooge! every Friday night when Sanctuary comes on.

... What, you don't remember the song?

Sanctuary much
Sanctuary much
That's the nicest thing that anyone's ever done for me

Yet another for the Muppets Christmas Carol.

Also, didn't Disney make a version with Mickey Mouse as Bob Cratchett? I can't remember.

Two cents: It's A Wonderful Life.

Yet another vote for the Muppet Christmas Carol.
My special is The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, which everyone seems to have forgotten about, including the people who release DVDs. I had to get a bootleg.
