Food item which only a blind fool would leave out of the list. (specify) Green bean salad with crunchy onions on top.

Ditto.

Also, we celebrated two weeks early (but still in November, not October) when Q's parents came over; and the specialty dish was dad's, not mom's.

And there was duck in addition to turkey and ham (and tofurkey for one of our guests, but I didn't have any).

Also, "lunch today" means "lunch the day after the above", and although there were three different pies for dessert, I had none.

Extra unlisted dishes were green bean casserole and spoonbread.
Also had mince pie and coconut pie.
Traditional "movie" was the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I'm not really sure why we watch this on Thanksgiving, but we always do. Sometimes we follow it with Holiday Inn.

Watching Grinch on Thanksgiving makes total sense to me. The Christmas Season starts the moment Santa shows up on The Parade.

Gravy! How could you leave out gravy, you blind fool??!! ;)

Also rolls. Mmmmm, rolls.

And our post-dinner activity was to watch HGTV and nap. Yes, we are a weird family.

Also: curried brussels sprouts, creamed onions, carrots, and blue berry pie.

Also clementines like whoa. Oh! and bread rolls.

Post Thanksgiving dinner was leaf raking, A Colbert Christmas, and the Obama Interview.

God I love Thanksgiving.

Oh. And watching my cat and my brother's dog duke it out between them.

I vacillated before choosing "something other than pie" under dessert, because what I have brought for the last two or three years is a sort of mongrel/hybrid made by Safeway ( west coast grocery store chain ). It's called Pumpkin Cheese Pecan streusal, and it consists of a layer of cheesecake about half the usual thickness, topped by a layer of pumpkin pie filling, finished off with a pecan streusal similar to what would be on a pecan pie, and it's really great -- so, what do you think: "pumpkin pie ( modified )", or "other"?

As far as "Post dinner activity", what about "went through all the newspaper ads for 'Black Friday'"?

On Thanksgiving, I had a yummy vegan dinner at a friends house for which I made brussels sprouts and Squash. I then went over to another friends and had a turkey dinner with most of the trimmings (bread and wine). Today I decided that I like turkey and cooked turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy & greens. Yummy...
