Review: "Average Mecha Show (with an extra helping of boob jiggle) meets The Forever War"

Oh, and it says something about the arms race in this series that it would make E.E. "Doc" Smith go, "Dude, that's a little over the top. Srsly."

I haven't seen that one yet, though I've seen many references to it (it's also called "Bustgunner" by some fans).

The scene where she dramatically rips out her own mecha's powerplant by physically ripping off the front of her uniform was... arresting... to say the least. Especially in HD on a theater sized screen

And for some reason the standard mecha pilot uniform lacks a bra.

Otakon? Was this the DVD with the optional jiggle counter?

I misspoke. It's another anime (which I also haven't seen) called "Burn Up Excess" which has a Jiggle Counter™ as a DVD special feature.

You mean these are worse than going from your basic atomic bomb equivalent to something that destroys galaxies in less than ten years? What do they do?

Well, they just suck out the center of the galaxy using a black hole bomb constructed by compressing the mass of Jupiter into a unit about the size of Earth's moon. That takes about fifteen years once they get the initial idea. And the 12,000 strong support fleet escorting it takes on some 18 billion defending bug ships.

So, maybe it wasn't really in Doc Smith's class...
