A little something for [livejournal.com profile] tamhavik For those of you not familiar with her comic Willy and Evita" go take a look.

Evita sat crosslegged on her toy box as her best friend Willy happily told her about all the fantastic things the red-haired, freckled girl had done today.

“…and then I said good morning to the King of Sweden, who’s still sleeping on the couch, and then I went outside built a snowman….” It was summer anyway, but Evita was sure that wouldn’t have stopped Willy. “…then I went down the creek and followed it into the forest and I talked to a fox…”

“What kinda fox?” Evita interrupted.

Willy had to think for a minute. “He was about this high.” She raised herself up on her tip toes and put her hand up as far as it could go. “And he had fur the color of sand and wore a green and gold suit.”

Evita blinked. “Oh, you did not see a fox that tall!”

“I did too!”

“He’d be the size of a horse!”

“No he wouldn’t! He was standing on his back paws, like Puss in Boots, except he wasn’t wearing any boots. He said his name was…” Willy struck a pose and bowed deeply, “Lord Brushtail.”

Evita thought about that a minute. “I guess that makes sense. Was he a nice fox?”

“I think so. He said he was looking for a friend named Terry.”

“Is Terry another fox?”

“No, Terry is a mouse.”

“Don’t foxes eat mice?”

“I asked him. He said he’d never eat Terry, since he was a friend of his. He said his friend was a special mouse, about as tall as he was, with horns on top of his head.”

“So he’s a devil mouse?”

“He might be,” Willy said slowly. "But I don’t think Lord Brushtail would be friends with a mean devil mouse.”

"Are you going to look for him?"

"I sure am! Are you coming?"

Evita shook her head. "No. I hafta clean my room before I can go out."

Willy went, "Aww. Okay. Well if I find him, I'll bring him right over to meet you!"

Evita smiled. "Okay. Bye Willy!"

"Bye Evita!" Then she rushed out the door to go searching for the devil mouse.

"Is she gone?" a voice said from inside the toy box.

"Yeah," Evita said, standing up and lifting the lid. Teri, who really did look like a mouse with horns and a really long tail with a funny spade on the end, stretched and stepped out.

"You weren't kiddin' about her talking so much. Does she ever stop?"

"She doesn't talk all the time," Evita told him. "Don't you want to find your friend, Lord Brushtail?"

"He's just gonna find chores for me to do. But I guess he must be worried about me. Tell you what. I'll go back, if we can play one more game of Chutes and Ladders, okay?"

"Okay!"

And that's how Evita spent her afternoon.

Sorry I didn't exactly use any of the prompt ideas you gave me. I seem to be destined to crossover [livejournal.com profile] chaypeta's stuff with everything.
