Matt Smith Trailer
Jan. 3rd, 2010 06:20 amSaw the teaser trailer for the 2010 Doctor Season.
Explosions = Yawn
Exploding phone booth = guess someone missed the TARDIS
Weeping Angel = Hrm.
Doctor spouting fireworks from his finger = Hopes to god they're going to drop the "Lonely God" crap.
Doctor bounces against what looks like an old school grey Dalek = Hmm, interesting/Jesus Christ on a moped, can't we go ONE SEASON without them showing up?
Doctor shoots a pistol = OMGWTFBBQ?!!!!!

My thoughts almost exactly. Every Doctor has to meet the Daleks, but they don't have to meet them every year. In seven years, Tom Baker only met the Daleks (and Davros) in two serials.
Doctor shoots a pistol = OMGWTFBBQ?!!!!!
I'm assuming he's shooting it at something, not someone. Wouldn't be the first time, especially as Tennant used Wilf's pistol to blow up the machine providing the connection to Gallifrey in his final episode. I'm assuming that clip, taken completely out of context (i.e., you don't know what he's shooting at or why) was deliberately put there (at the climax of the trailer) in order to induce the "OMGWTFBBQ?!!!!!" reaction, given Tennant's endless pistol angsting.

Date: 2010-01-04 07:31 pm (UTC)Still, I'm skeptical of the 'new doctor'. I know the Doctor changes, sometimes radically, with each regeneration but some of the regens have just been lame while some of the best have had too short a run.
I'm feeling a very lame duck is coming in the next season. I'm with Mr. Tennit who said, in an interview, that he hoped that the show would continue on. But I am hoping that if the new Doctor is as poor a representative as I think he may be that his run will be similar to a few others - short.
