1. Most importantly, my brother-in-law got the results beack from his first round of chemotherapy, and his cancer is full remission. Now, this isn't quite in the "break out the champange" catagory. The brand of cancer he has always comes back, it's just a matter of when. But that When could be in six months or six years, depnding. At any rate it's a helluva lot better than the 1 to 3 years he would have had without treatment.

2. On a considerably lesser, if quite nice, note, Cheeko, the artist who did the original cover art for The Dragon's Companion saw the repeat of my LiveJournal post about wanting to reformat it to trade paperback size, and offered out of the blue to create a brand new cover. Her logic being that it would look good to have artwork for a published book in her college art portfolio. :)

Of course now I'm going to have to get off my ass and reformat the book now, instead of just bitching about it...

1. Not the best news possible (that would be, 'the test says *what* cancer'), but given the situation it's still great news.

2. Woo!

Remission is a very pretty word. I'm glad you got to use it today.

Not as pretty as gone, I admit, but still...

Good luck reformatting!
Are you going to do it the same way as Unexpected Diversions? I noticed a few things about how you made up the text and I couldn't help myself to hear my internal teachers commenting on certain points. I didn't say anything since you already finished it and I don't think you have so much time that you could spend it on maybe correcting some details.
But this would be different :) You're already going to work on this. Would you like to hear a few pointers from a student graphic designer? Not that I know everything, but there are a few things that my teachers made comments on that I see you doing too.

Well, the entire interior is going to have to be reformatted. Right now it looks terribly amateurish with those huge spaces between the paragraphs. If you have any other suggestions they would be appreciated. Or are you talking about the story itself? I'm open to suggestions there as well.

Just remember to let me know when you are ready for the Re-Launch interview article.

I'm still getting hits and funds from the first one for UD so... it can't hurt either of us ;)

I'm glad that things are going well for your brother-in-law! And that's awesome that Cheeko is willing to do this. =D Good luck on the book!
