Fifth of July
Jul. 5th, 2004 05:25 amWeekend was a bit of a bust, I'm afraid. Saturday we went up to Elena and Jim's house for a pre-Fourth picnic. It's the first time I've had a chance to get up there in a couple of years, so I was looking forward to it. A three hour drive up and back, which is normally no big deal.
Newsflash: Attemping to stuff three adults and a baby seat into a Hyundai Tiburon is a bad idea. By the time we got home around 9:30 we all resembled pretzels. Sunday we spent sitting around the house noting how sore we all felt. I spent most of the day napping and wondering if I was getting sick, since my throat was becoming terribly sore (still is, and if it is tommorow, I'll go to the MD's and check for strep) and I was achey and tired. It also rained most of the afternoon, which killed what little motivation I had to cook with flame. So instead I fired up the George and cooked the steaks on that (spices: pepper, garlic, onion powder, paprika, and a little parsley flakes). It worked out.
