Last night I opened a 24 oz (710ml for you Europeans) bottle of Dr. Pepper to have with dinner (slow cooked pork ribs. Yum!). Now I know one of the main ingredients is prune juice, but other than that I figured it's a perfectly ordinary soda. After drinking about a third of it, I put the bottle in the freezer to cool down for later that evening. I ended up forgetting about it until this morning, when I grabbed it to have with breakfast [1]

Nine hours in a working freezer, and it was still a liquid, with maybe a bit of slush in the center.

What's in this stuff?

[1] Don't judge me.

Seems like fructose - as in "high fructose corn syrup" - does lower the freezing point of water.

Getting a glass of cola is one of the first things I do every morning. In turn, I don't drink coffee. (And no cola in the evening, usually.)

Dunno about now, but one of the ingredients used to be ethylene glycol. Just sayin'....

(Or was that polyethylene glycol??)
