I went shopping (for groceries) yesterday. Today, home.

Black Friday for me is very much a stay-at-home-and-hide holiday.

Why should anyone go shopping especially today? There is nothing special - same as yesterday and tomorrow...

...only exception is the Christmas market starts today - but it will continue until Christmas.

Long ago, before I was born, Yankee store holders decided that in order to get people hyped for shopping for the Christmas season, they would cut prices like crazy for one day only. That day was the day after thanksgiving. It has since been known as Black Friday, when all big chain stores give anyone crazy enough to face the crowds huge discounts, especially on electronics.

And that is why today is special in the United States shopping market.

Take care!

Black Friday for me means making Turkey Noodle soup from the carcass left from yesterday's feeding frenzy. (Geez, I hope it's the turkey's carcass.....)

I'm buying dental chews and special dogfood for the four-foots. And a french baguette for dinner (turkey with 4+ heads of garlic), and pita to go with left-over hummus from yesterday.

All of which means going .25 miles west, then about two miles south, then home - no big-box retailer anywhere near where I'm going!
