Damn, Damn, DAMN!

The Good: Finally buckled down and got an account at Smashwords so I can format The Dragon's Companion and Unexpected Diversions into Kindle and other e-publishing formats to sell.

The Very Bad: I. Can't. Find. Diversions'. Word. File.
As in, I've checked both PC's, my laptop, my thumbdrive, everything. It's dissapeared. The only place left MIGHT be the harddrive of our dead PC box, but that's so corrupted I'm hesitant to try and pull it out and hook it up to one of the other computers.

In other words, if I want to e-publish Unexepected Diversions again, I'm going to have to put all of the individual stories together again in one package and re-edit them. Again.

Whimper.

I have the pdf (from Lulu) and tried converting it (to Mobi) using Calibre. Quite readable, but the formatting is odd - it doesn't separate out the page numbers and has a hard break at the page boundaries. Don't know if another destination format would work better - or if another conversion facility would.

Well I need to get it set for Smashwords specfically, since they cover almost all e-publishing formats. We'll see how it goes.

I could check if I still have it somewhere - but I fear it was the unedited version...

...or you could download it from Lulu (or use an existing file) and convert it into a word file?
