The Summer Intern, 20/20 Hindsight
Feb. 1st, 2011 07:12 pmY'know, if I'd been thinking about it I would have made Nan a human. As a Vulpine she's grown up with the ferin her entire life, knows them and respects them. If she'd been human, then she would have arrived at the village as an outsider and not trusted at all be anybody, except maybe Nez.
Too late now. I'm not about to do a Page One re-write even for that.

Also, I think the vulpines aren't so narrow minded that they'll all paint every human with the same brush, after all the sanctuary has human visitors. But she will certainly run into people who do. And the incident with the rasberry haired ferin would give her a mjor attack of the guilts regarding her races track record.

...but she hardly would come to the First One as intern if she was human...
...except she were raised in Vulpine territory or at least got her studies there (or even were of Matt's family - which would make it easier to connect with Teri...)...
(and I wonder how she as human would have climbed that tree...)
And then her goal to convince humanity about the well-treating of Ferin as sentient people would get a whole new touch...
...I wonder if there would be an alternate universe where that would had happened...
