State of the Royce

Went to work yesterday, despite feeling miserable. Once there I ended up putting my coat on since I was so cold in the freezer we call our office. Naturally the coat made me feel too hot. When I took it off to go to the break room and eat my lunch I started shivering uncontrollably. Around 1:45 I told my boss I needed to go home. She was sympathetic and told me not to come in today if I was still sick. Got home to find I had a fever of 100, so I took Motrin and crawled into bed until it was time to get the kids from daycare.

Right now I don't know what to do. I'm still snuffly, but I don't quite have a fever, after sucking down two tankards of water. We'll see how I am in a couple of hours.

Yikes. It sounds like you could really do with a good week off. I don't get how your company can reset sickleave at the start of each year effectively allowing no sick leave in the first month or so. :( Especially where you are... it's Winter... the season for colds. Maybe it's a ploy to stop people taking sickies over the holiday period. But is sucks+++
