Inspired by the TV Tropes entry on [livejournal.com profile] ursulav's Black Dogs.

So in a universe populated almost exclusively by anthropomorphic animals, could you slip humans in by claiming they're just anthro monkeys? :)

Can anything truly be anthro if there are no humans? What are you comparing them to?

In the anthro world I toy with sometimes but haven't ever put online, there are no primates because, what's the point?, they're anthropomorphic naturally.

Except bush babies. Because my wife thinks they're cute.

I don't see why not, but I really don't see that happening in the vast majority of furry fiction and comics I know of.

Nah, humans are from scary fantasy stories. I mean really, you'd get laughed at if you put something so weak and defenseless into a science-fiction story. Really, evolution would kill something like that off long before it could evolve sapience.

"And then the evil wizard cursed the hero, so that on every full moon his fur and tail would fall off, his muzzle shrink to nothing but a stubby useless nose, his ears would become weak and unmoving, and his claws nothing but weak and easily torn pads atop his fingers."

"Oh! How horrid! The evil wizard is punished, right?"

"Yes, yes, now stop interrupting the story. Where was I? Oh yes, shamed by this curse the hero went into hiding..."
