Good morning, Mr. Phelps. The man in this photograph is Stringfellow Hawke, a former US Army helicopter pilot who served in Vietnam along with his brother St. John, who was shot down and is now believed to be a POW.

Recently Mr. Hawke was involved in a mission to recover a vital prototype attack helicopter, codenamed "Airwolf", that had been stolen by its creator, Dr. Moffet, who sought refuge with the Libyan government. Although Hawke succeeded in recovering Airwolf from the Libyans and eliminating Dr. Moffet, rather than returning the aircraft to our sister agency, the FIRM, he has chosen to keep it for himself. We believe rogue elements in the FIRM are aiding Mr. Hawke in his search for his missing brother, in return for him piloting Airwolf on certain "deniable" missions.

Your mission Jim, should you choose to accept it, is to recover Airwolf and to discover and expose who exactly is supporting Mr. Hawke in the FIRM. As always, should any of your team be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good luck.

Uh, yeah, good luck with that, Mr. Phelps. Did they hand you the part of the file in which they show that when Hawke killed off the *psychopathic creator* of the Airwolf, he EMPTIED THE ENTIRE ARSENAL of the Airwolf into ONE MAN?

You *really* don't want to piss off Stringfellow Hawke.

If they want the Airwolf back, a MUCH more sensible mission would be "recover St. John Hawke, or proof that he is dead, and deliver it to Stringfellow Hawke in exchange for the Airwolf".

Ah, the rescuing SinJin mission idea would come up later, once the MI team get a closer look at Hawke and Dom and realize that something really stinks about this assignment.

Look, Jim gets his mission assignments from anonymous drops. You can't tell me one of Archangel's rivals wouldn't take advantage of that and use an outside team to try and get Airwolf without tipping him off. :)

Oh, certainly. Heck, the one guy tried to arrange it so that Hawke flew the Airwolf through an Arclight strike, figuring that if they couldn't get the Airwolf back, he could destroy it and keep it from remaining in "unenlightened hands".

Which resulted in one of the show's CMOAs.

"I was born in a briar patch!"

I think that had a record for the biggest explosion every filmed for TV. I wonder if the Mythbursters have broken it yet.

You, my friend, are probably the ONLY person in the world who would write such a fanfic. :)

Hard to imagine there is a big Airwolf fan community, but then again...
