I have mixed feelings about this. I realize no physical actor can possibly look like Tintin or many of the other characters without live-action Dick Tracy levels of latex on their face, but the mo-cap CGI is all over the Uncanny Valley again (if better than the dead-eyed examples from Robert Zemetkis' Polar Express ect). Why couldn't they have just done it as straight hand drawn animation though?

Ah well, at least the release of the movie means I'll be able to pick up the animated Nelvana series from Amazon now.

Spielberg has been hit and miss over the years but I'm yet to see Jackson make a mess, so yes, as much as I would have preferred a traditional style of animation for this, I WILL be going to see it and am honestly excited :D
