Dear California: Yes, it was only a 5.1. Let's see you deal with a snowstorm, huh?
Meanwhile, Tracy got up at 7am to get dressed and go to the local Weight Watchers so she could keep to her weigh in schedule. Happily despite being on vacation she still managed to lose 0.6 pounds, which also broke the cycle of up/down yoyoing she'd been experiencing. After she hit the treadmill at the fitness center we all headed out to Busch Gardens. While we got a Fast Pass for Tom it turned out he didn't need it. He was as good as gold waiting in line for Escape from Pompeii (very wet) and the Mach Tower (very high and fast), not to mention a few of the kiddie rides. Thursday we'll probably skip the water park and hit Busch Gardens again so he can go on the Loch Ness Monster.
As for the quake, it was mostly a non-event. Tracy was sitting at an outside table eating lunch and felt it shake. I was inside one of the eateries getting her another water and didn't notice anything except a bit of a rumble that I thought was one of the rides. A lot of the rides shut down for about an hour or so while they were checked for problems, but aside from that it was really a non-event.
Today we take it easy for a while and go to Colonial Williamsburg.

Yeah, the quake was way scarier indoors than out (I... uh... may have fled the house. In my defense, I was like, 20 feet away from the front door, and I didn't flee the house until the shaking got worse). Once I was outside I was all, "Huh, this isn't so bad. Okay." and watched the windows vibrate as well as the street signs.
But it also depended on the building you were in and how well constructed/shake resistant it was. Because there were plenty of people who were all "What quake?" along with people who were all "OMG OMG OMG EVERYTHING EVER IS MOVING" and it wasn't a total overreaction. Glad to hear the vacation's going well though!
