Sales Update
Nov. 3rd, 2011 11:02 amI've been negligent in posting my sales numbers from Amazon and Smashwords in the past couple of months. Rather than hit you with a lot of raw data I'll just make some general observations.
1. Sales have slowed a bit since I began posting my work to Amazon in August. I think this is becuase I'm no longer the new kid on the block so the novelty of "New Author" has worn off for people who perodically surf through the Kindle offerings to see if there's something new to read.
2. My triumphant annoucement of Triumvirate's launch was badly premature. Short Version: What I thought was an adequate read through for mistakes... wasn't. After spotting the mess,
ankewehner generously offered to do a beta-read. I'll be implementing the corrections and putting it back up for sale after Nano is complete.
3. After an initial spike in sales, Unexpected Diversions has... er... unexpectedly dropped into second place in my top sellers list. Instead it's being overshadowed by Captive of the Red Vixen.. What I'm finding interesting is the cross-references provided by Amazon's "People who bought this item have also bought..." listings. For UD, there's one book listed. For CotRV, the list is currently thirteen pages long. Apparently there's a lot of demand for furry romances out there. Either that or they're buying it on the strength of Meg's new cover, which is a lot more suggestive than actual content of the book.
4. Getting over $40 of royalties from both Amazon and Smashwords at the end of last quarter was very pleasing indeed. :)
