About an hour ago I got my monthly payment from Amazon. About $15.00, which would have put me over the top to get my toy.

I'm laughing on the inside. Really.

The universe is mocking you, as in my icon, apparently. My sympathies. Twice THIS YEAR (many times in prior years) I had similar things happen -- big chunk of money came in, and suddenly big expenses showed up to relieve me of the burden of having a well-padded bank account.

a) you're clear across the country from me and

b) we've both already earmarked our earnings [wry g].
