Viewings today. Not looking forward to it, but it shouldn't be too bad. Dad asked for a closed casket funeral, saying to leaving the coffin open "Only if I get to have a microphone so I can say, 'Yes, I look that bad.'"

Visited with Mom and my sister and her husband Mike last night. Took Thomas along, and everyone enjoyed his company very much. He actually sang "Wheels on the Bus" in front of them, which previously he would have been far too shy to do. Mom was in good spirits. At this point she's more worried for my Aunt Delores and Uncle Jimmy, who lost the roof of their house when Jeanne hit.

In other news: Work sucks and I'm glad I'm not there. Had Yet Another F*cking Map Crisis come up, which killed any chance of me leaving early. I'm pathetically grateful that by the time I finish using up my bereavement leave, the Econo Directory will be out the door and I won't have to look at it again.

More happily, "Unexpected Diversions, Part One" has had about 93 hits and 75 downloads, so somebody is reading the darned thing. Of course half those readers haven't bothered to continue to part two, which either means they don't care for my writing style, or the hit on the story's keyword while searching for elf pR0n.
