Pagan copyright violations
Oct. 1st, 2004 05:19 amOf all the nitwitted...
Urg. Was just pointed to a pagan site that offered up a writeup of the Grigori from Hebrew myth (link: http://www.theoldpath.com/dgrigori.htm). Problem is, what they posted was stolen directly from Steve Jackson Games' In Nomine RRG core rules. They even left the game mechanic bits in at the end. I sent 'em a nastygram, and no doubt Beth McCoy, the IN Line Editor, will be passing along a strongly worded cease and desist order as well.
I'm not sure what is more pathetic. The fact that the web site's editors felt the need to rip off copyrighted material to fill their site, or that they were passing off information from a fantasy role-playing game as supposedly deep pre-Christian mythological scholarship.[1]
NITWITS!
[1] Admittedly SJG usually does their homework so well that their historical sourcebooks can and have been cited as references in college papers, but they readily admit their work is slanted towards the "Cool bits" portions of history.
