Peta read my proposal for "Damsels and Dragons."

She loved it.

She says she'll have plenty of time for it after January.

Which means I have to start working on scripts.

*headdesk*

And find hosting space.

And commit myself to providing teh Funny in three or four panels, one hundred and fifty-six days a year.

On the plus side, however bad this turns out to be, it can't be any worse than "Garfield".

A word of advice -- don't commit to a M-W-F update schedule right out of the box. Or if you do, have a backlog of simple gags that you can use as filler when the well runs dry. Definitely get about 5-10 strips *done* before you launch and announce, because sooner or later you will hit a wall.

oh yeah, and if you need or want help or guest strips occasionally, you know where to look....

Oh, there's at least one running gag already set up, but hopefully we won't have to fall back on that for a while. I've no intention of getting this thing started until I've got at least twelve weeks worth of strips written up. If I can't manage that many at least, I won't have any confidence in keeping up with a multi-year commitment if it turns out to be successful.

Having a hefty buffer is going to be vital for this project. For one thing, Peta lives in Australia, which means it isn't like we're going to be able to have a quick chat on the phone to iron out plot details. That, and given her artist abilities (just LOOK at some of the georgous stuff in Terinu) she isn't going to settle for half-assed artwork like some comics I shant mention.

And believe me, I appreciate the offer of a guest strip if need be. I know I'll be needing it eventually.
