Status Report: "Damsels and Dragons"

Wasted some time in a lousy training session to start jotting notes for DaD. Took the plunge at lunch today and started writing out full scripts for a four-panel strip, completing the first story arc. Going by Peta's proposed schedule of two updates per week, I've got three and a half week's worth of scripts in the can. Go me.

Exactly. I'm hoping to find a place on Keenspot or someplace similar. After talking with Peta I'm hoping to have at least three months of scripts in the can before we open up the site to the public. That way there'll be a plenty big buffer in case either of our lives go to pieces again.

Way to work! You draw anime, right? Is your strip going to be suitable for 16-yr-olds? Alec lives, breathes, and draws anime, so if you let me know where it'll show up, I'll point him to it. Congrats!

Oh, I don't draw anything, I'm just writing the scripts. Peta Hewitt will be the artist. She self-publishes a dead tree comic down in Australia called Terinu which she also puts out on the web. Link: http://www.terinu.net/ Her style is vaguely anime-ish, mostly in the depictions of her alien characters. Otherwise it's straight, old-fashioned 50's space opera.

"Damsels and Dragons" ought to be, at worst, PG-13. No vulgarities, though there may be the occasional dragon poop joke.

Terinu is also PG-13, aside from the ocasional use of the word "sh*t" by the really bad guys, and one point where a man attempts to buy the lead character (who's 14), claiming that "certain men would find him exotic".

BTW And if you look hard enough in Peta's galleries you will find boobies, but only in a couple of pics.
