According to FedEx my freaking PS3 is in Hagerstown, so I might actually get it back today. Assuming they just don't let it marinate on the truck for a few more days for giggles.

Edit: moonshadowed signed for it an hour ago. Yay.

With my luck it'll still be broken...

3:30am: Wake up after a good night's sleep. See prezzie sitting on the couch where moonshadowed left it. Meanie. Manfully avoid ripping into it even though I have a fair idea what it is.

6:30: Put present away so Thomas can't play with the wrapping paper.

7:00: Shower, wake up Tracy, get kids dressed, open prezzie. A new Playstation 3 with a 360GB drive! Yays!

7:15: Hook up PS3 to TV. Try to head off Thomas' melt down when he's told this one is Daddy's Toy. Set Internet connection.

7:30: Go to work.

11:30: Leave work for Part One of Tom's IEP meeting to set up his summer school schedule.

1:00pm: Get home. Grab sandwich. Continue setup, including a software update so I can use the online service.

1:30pm Update sitting at 99% complete. Leave and go to Gamestop to pick up used copies of Little Big Planet and Batman Arkham Asylum (yeah I know, Jim, but given how fun they were at your place, I know I'll be playing them a lot.)

2:00 Come home. System still stuck updating. Break warranty by doing a hard reset. System start updating automatically again. And gets stuck at 99%. Again.

2:10 and 2:15 Wash, rinse repeat

2:30 Tear hair out

2:45 Call customer support. Told to download the software update onto a USB drive and load it directly.

2:50 Try my primary USB drive. Error occurs when I'm trying to put in a new folder.

2:55: Try my backup drive. Too full. Copy and delete all the information on it.

3:00 Find out drive is too small.

3:05 Remove more hair.

3:10 Steal Tracy's USB drive.

3:15 Which is too full.

3:20 More hair.

3:25 Look at Kindle, get Bright Idea (tm). All it is really is a big USB drive with a display screen after all.

3:40 Transfer required files to Kindle, hook Kindle to PS3. Upload files. Update complete successfully.

3:40-45 Brief pause to enjoy the warmth of Heaven's light as a chorus of angels sing Beethoven's "Ode to Joy."

3:45 to 4:30 Play Little Big Planet, which is utterly charming and soothing.

4:30 to 9pm: Play Batman, Arkham Asylum, which is utterly cathartic! GOD I love the combat system!

This Morning: Wake up at 3:30am again for some nice, uninterrupted terrorizing of the Joker's mooks.
