jeriendhalAhem. In honor of the New Year, allow me to sing you a brief ode to the events of 2016.

Hated you! Hate, hate, HATEY, HATE, HATED YOU!
Eat it, 2016! If there was a compost heap at the corner of history's garden, you would be at the BOTTOM!
Except that compost heaps are actually useful and you served no good purpose WHATSOEVER except maybe allowing David Bowie to transcend his Earthly form just so he could that much more far out.
The rest of you was 364 days of absolute CRAP!!

Date: 2017-01-04 12:58 pm (UTC)*sigh* The deaths were many and terrible, but to see the rise of the hard right's nationalism, misogyny, racism, and bigotry of all stripes - where every revelation about their hero was just another reason to vote for him - now that's tough to bear. And yet, we must persevere; after all, it's not just the US, but so many other countries as well, with "strong leaders" in place in Poland, Ukraine, Turkey, and elsewhere (and so very nearly Austria as well), not to mention merely conservative evil in Australia and the UK.
