Good deed for the day

Read a DA journal entry by skifi, a Spanish artist who is excited about getting his hotel room for Otakon, the first con he's ever attended. I congratulate him, and inquire whether he'd registered yet, since Otakon had to make a "No Walk-ins" rule after the con reached the BCC's Fire Safety limits. He hadn't, and then said he was getting on the ball to pre-register right now. :)
I couldn't imagine travelling all the way from Europe just to find out you can't get into the con you wanted to attend!
Edit: Actually, the more I think about it, the more that sounds like the plot of a comedy film. Two guys travel across the country/ocean to attend the enourmous Not-Otakon-No-Really, only to find out their pre-registration got lost, or wasn't sent in the first place. The film follows their increasingly farcical attempts to sneak in, only to be thwarted at every turn by their jack-booted nemesis in NONR Security, who spends the film chucking them out and anyone else who looks at him crossways or dares to violate NONR'sfascist regrettably strict rules. Events converge as the more responsible of the pair hooks up with his proto-girlfriend, and they kiss on the stage during the Special Musical Appearance by whatever AsiaPop band is currently hot.
Hollywood, here I come!
