China Girl Update
Feb. 21st, 2008 09:18 amCurrently we're looking at sometime in April or May to recieve word on our child, so we're trying to complete the required online classes that our adoption agency wants us to do. Last night we ran through the "Conspicious Adoption" module, which basically was to clue us in that when we take our kid out in public, idiots (some of whome we might be related to) will feel compelled to ask stupid questions.
Now I understand that the idea is to train us to answer questions in a way that will make our child feel loved and to defuse potential tension. Nevertheless, I was dissapointed that the multiple choice responses we were given to choose when confronted with questions like "Does your kid speak Chinese or English" didn't include options for "Reply: 'None of your [expletive] business'" or "Raise middle finger".
