What's "Sorry, wrong number" in Deutsch?
May. 8th, 2008 08:12 amSo last night I get home and check the messages on my answering machine. There was just one, a wrong number evidentially, because it was from a woman speaking in either German or Dutch (it was hard to tell, I don't think it exactly sounded like German but I don't know much Dutch to make a comparison). I ddin't think anything of it and erased the message.
This morning around 7:15 the phone rang. This isn't a usual occurance, unless my mom is having a panic attack, so I ran to the phone to pick it up. It was the same woman, speaking rapidly in German/Dutch and continuing to talk even after I said, repeatedly, in English, "I don't understand you, you have the wrong number." Finally, after I realized she was just going to keep talking, I hung up. I feel bad about it, but whatever she wanted I wasn't going to be any help.

Date: 2008-05-08 04:03 pm (UTC)I think she must have understood some English because she said something in a regretful tone, and a few other things...but when I kept saying I was sorry, I didn't understand, we hung up.
No other calls since I've been home unless they are on the answering machine.
