Podcasts?

All right, so I'm getting bored by my playlist on my mp3 player and I'm actually honest enough not to download songs illegally (very often). Anyone have any recommendations for good podcasts for me to download, given my science fiction/fantasy, gamer geek tendencies?

http://www.thislife.org - This American Life is a weekly radio show that picks a theme each week, and covers a number of stories from around America that touch upon it. The episodes can be downloaded from the website.

If you can find the one with the story they refer to as "Squirrel Cop", get it. You will laugh.

Well for SF news and stuff you could go to http://www.hour25online.com/ though I don't see any new shows since Christmas and they don't have an actual podcast (but I think shows on Mp3). They used to be a live radio show out here but didn't fit in well with their Public Radio station host and got cancelled. Stale news might not be your thing, but you can grab some of the story reading ones and listen to SF stories on your player.

I recommend public radio podcasts in general. Most of the best shows on NPR are available via podcast. Future Tense http://www.publicradio.org/columns/futuretense/ is a nice daily technology news. The Loh Down on Science is a daily interesting science fact show via CalTech and hosted by Sandra Tsing Loh. http://www.scpr.org/services/podcast.html Grab the Loh Life too if you like bite size quantities of humor. I'll second the recommendations for This American Life and Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. They don't particularly fit your stated interests, but they're consistently interesting and enjoyable.

Give a listen to Escape Pod for a quality SF fiction podcats. They have sister sites for fantasy (PodCastle) and horror (PseudoPod) as well.
