Dalekmania (1996): A short (47 minutes) documentary obviously produced to plug the then upcoming DVD release of the two Peter Cushing Dalek feature films made back in the sixties, this concentrates more on the movies rather than the origins of the Daleks in Doctor Who's TV serials, or any of the actual "mania" that surrounded the little genocidal pepperpots. Nevertheless it is worth watching just for the insider stories provided by the woman who'd played Susan in both films, and the stunt coordinator's horror stories.

Word Girl: Betty Botsworth is secretly Wooooord Girrrrrrl in this animated PBS production, fighting evil villains and expanding citizens' vocabulary at the same time. Oh, and it has ridiculous amounts of parental bonus, mostly from employing writers from Saturday Night Live and several improv actors. Think if "Rocky and Bullwinkle" were an educational show and you've got it.

Dalekmania (1996)

I haven't seen that one, and didn't find it a year ago when I did my Who marathon from hell... But that's OK, I was only trying to watch every Whoniverse story in existence, not the related documentaries, interviews, and other additional features.

If you've got Netflix it's available for live-streaming, where I found it.

Don't have Netflix, but it's available used on Amazon if I need it. But after watching over a dozen Doctors (this was in 2009, before Matt Smith; but I also watched Peter Cushing, Rowan Atkinson and company, Richard E. Grant in Curse of the Shalka, etc.) along with all of the spinoffs, canon and non- (Sarah Jane, Torchwood, The UNIT Auton trilogy, and more) in one year, I'm pretty much Doctored out... Which may have been a factor in my less-than-enthusiastic reaction to Matt Smith's first season.

Yes, even this one...

But have you seen this one? [livejournal.com profile] jblum was sufficiently disgusted by the changes to his original script that he had his name taken off it.

They weren't all horrible. Well, most of them were. But the Auton trilogy and PROBE series had their good points.
